Testimonials

Dear Stuart,
Child 1st is a wonderful private day care nursery that we have used to look after my two children over the last 6 years. There are many reasons why this nursery sets itself apart from the rest and I have detailed the main points below with the view this may be helpful to other parents seeking an outstanding nursery.

Much of the success of the nursery I believe is down to the strong management team in place comprising of Corrine (Nursery Manager) and Sophie (Assistant Manager). Both are solely dedicated to the smooth and efficient running of the nursery and not trying to juggle dipping in and out of the hands on childcare. They are both extremely dedicated to achieving high standards of professionalism. Over the years I have been using the nursery I have found both Corrine and Sophie to be knowledgeable, flexible, understanding, supportive, approachable and caring – I even received advice from Corrine at the weekend over a childhood illness.

The management team is underpinned by the staff who achieve high standards of practice and really genuinely care about the children they look after. I have always been confident the Early Learning Foundation Stages have been followed and over our time at the nursery we received much support and advice from staff. There is a lovely atmosphere at the nursery reinforced by a transparent approach in standards – you do not need an appointment to have a show around as a new parent considering the nursery, something I really appreciated.

An area the nursery really excelled in was the hygiene and cleanliness and as a parent with young children I thought this was truly excellent. I felt confident I was leaving my children in a safe and clean environment. There is a canteen where children eat their lunch and Child 1st really deserve their 5 stars for the hygiene from the Food Safety Standards.  All food is prepared on-site by chef Lynn using local organic ingredients, healthy eating is promoted, with children being involved in growing fruit and vegetables in the garden.

Finally, the nursery is a purpose built building, likened to a school in its appearance.  It boasts large open plan spaces with ceiling to floor windows and a beautiful garden where fruit and vegetables and grown, there are wooden houses and a mud kitchen to name a few of the features. Over the 6 years I have seen constant investment in equipment.

Overall, I have found Child 1st to be a happy, safe and exciting environment for pre-school children which I would highly recommend.

Kind regards
Christina Savage
